New Years!

Hey there!
Glad to be back in University everyone? Not so much... I have a ton of readings to do, (but I'm paying for it so I can't complain). Volleyball starts in a week! Can't wait!
I wanted to post this pic of my lovely friends on new years, they were kind enough to help me out with my video for my film application. Ah, Okanagan Lake at night.

Holiday Time

Dinner with family friends and walks in the snow, that's what the holidays are about. I'm
enjoying my time at home and the food that comes along with it. Below is a picture from our dinner with the Watson family, and photos from a walk up Dilworth Mountain. Tonight we are cooking some very complicated French recipices from Laura Calder. Sure to be yummy! I'll let you know how they turn out.

Winter White

December 2nd and already I am in the mood for Christmas. (Ok, that actually started the day I had my first Eggnog latte.) This year is going to mean so much because I missed the last Xmas while I was in Austria, which was magical nonetheless. But now I have my family and friends to surround me and I couldn't be happier. To add to this bliss, I have finally thought of an idea for a short film that will be the centre piece of my film application! I'm beyond excited, and I wish I could reveal every detail to you, but it must be a surprise! I will give you a hint - I came up with it when I was listening to Skin of the Night by M83. Let your imagination run wild.

Happiness Recipe

Watch this video below and think about it... You may be surprised in your answer, and why you never did it in the first place. It's one of the most difficult things to rely on yourself instead of someone telling you what to do, because hey, no one else can be blamed if you make the decision yourself.

Start by thinking about what gets you excited to wake up in the morning, and then go do it! You are the only one who has to live your life, and isn't it your the goal in the end to be happy?

I second guess myself everyday about studying the arts until I remember that if I do something I love I'll never want to escape from it.

I am Making Art

Finally!
I just got my flash drive back today. Here are my 1st and 2nd projects for Visual Arts class. You may criticize, analyze, or just plain look at them for their aesthetic beauty. Though the latter may appear a frivolous pursuit, I think it is undervalued in University.

Conceptual Trickery
"For this assignment I would like you to create a scene of conceptual trickery of your choice."

Conceptual Photography
"You are to take a series of photographs that reveal a system by which you obtained them."

Countdown

Hey there!
In my mind the countdown until the last day of classes (Nov.30th) has officially begun. I am enjoying writing all my papers so far, (English Lit, Art History, and Philosophy) and working on a new project for Visual Arts! (I will post the older projects today, hopefully). It's nice to feel so at home on campus and around Vancouver itself. Despite the rain that has been forecast to leer over us throughout this week, I am feeling very content.
